Personal Touch Welcomes John Paul DeJoria! - May 2010 Owner Gino Policicchio of Personal Touch had the privilege of being invited to meet John Paul Dejoria. John Paul recently embarked on a Canada wide tour to meet selected individuals and Paul Mitchell Salons. John Paul DeJoria's rags-to-riches biography exemplifies the American dream he is a first-generation American turned entrepreneur, philanthropist, government servant, and pillar of the business community. John Paul DeJoria has struggled against the odds not only to achieve success, but to share this success with others. He knows firsthand what it's like to be the underdog, and strives to help as many as possible overcome their challenges and achieve their full potential. What an honour to have this opportunity! Pictured from L-R are John Paul Dijoria (Owner & Co-Founder of John Paul Mitchell Hair Systems) and Gino Policicchio (Owner of Personal Touch Hair Studio)
Who is Nobody? Meets Personal Touch - Fall 2009 I am sure that most Brooklin residents with elementary school aged children will know about the Who is Nobody Project. But for those of you who don't here is a quick run down on the "Nobody Doll". Students are given a doll which is raceless and sexless and has no character. The students' job is to help build the "Nobody" into a SOMEBODY by showing it ways to build character and worth by choosing a group of people or animals or other cause to help. Last year Mitchell Connelly participated in this by choosing to help people who have no food. With doll in hand he set out to raise donations and collect food items to be donated. For one morning Mitchell came in to Personal Touch to talk to clients about his project and why he was collecting donations. As well as leaving food many clients of the salon also gave monetary donations. Gino also donated a portion of all tips received that day to go towards his efforts. After his box was full he decided to take it and the money raised to the St. Marks United Church, 201 Centre St. S, Whitby where it was warmly received. Thank you to Mitchell and to all of you who were kind enough to donate!
Martini Manicure Event, May 11th 2010
Hairdressers for Haiti With the devastating aftermath in Haiti, Denato Salon and Spa in downtown TO hosted The Hairdressers for Haiti where proceeds of all hair services were donated to Haiti. Personal Touch was among those selected salons who were invited to participate in this terrific three day event. We were privileged to be a part of this very successful event. The turn out was amazing and was of great benefit to those in Haiti. Thank you to all those who participated in this event!
